08. The Economic Scene
Robert H. Frank, Johnson Graduate School of Management, scored a monthly column, “Economic Scene,” in the New York Times’ business section. The column focuses on economic issues that relate to policy matters and observations. Frank is one of the rotating contributors, and his column appears every fourth Thursday. He has covered topics such as compound interest as a growth vehicle for individuals who save money; the estate tax, posing many arguments for its continuation; the competition for top students by elite schools and how this competition has altered financial aid packages; the thinking of economist John Kenneth Galbraith and why he did not receive the Nobel Prize; and energy policy issues.
